Silver Swans Ballet

Silver Swans Ballet

Silver Swans is a specialized ballet program created by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in 2017 to provide accessible, low-impact dance classes tailored specifically for older adults, typically aged 55 and older (though all ages are welcome).
Program Overview
  • Target Audience: Designed for older learners of all levels—from complete novices who have never danced a step to experienced dancers returning after decades.
  • Key Benefits: Helps improve mobility, balance, posture, flexibility, co-ordination, and cognitive function while boosting energy levels and confidence.
  • Class Structure: Incorporates gentle barre work and center exercises, with options for standing or seated movement. Music includes classical favorites alongside familiar pieces from film and television scores.
  • Licensed Teachers: Classes are delivered globally by licensed Silver Swans Licensees who have completed specific RAD training to safely teach older adults.
  • Taught by Judith Hawkesworth: The only Silver Swans Licensee in South Carolina.
